Eyelid trauma
By adhering lash extensions too close or directly on the eyelid touching the skin, cyanoacrylate adhesives will create serious burns and irritations to the eyelid skin. Their eyelids will swell up and mimic an allergic reaction, or cause an accelerated reaction to the adhesive. When the natural lashes grow, they will slowly pull apart the adhesive from the skin leaving a small open wound highly vulnerable to infection.
To avoid this lash application mishap, place the lash extensions 0.5-1mm away from the eyelid skin.
-
Follicle obstruction
Death of natural lashes. Cyanoacrylate based adhesives are not to be touched to the eyelid skin. The adhesive will be clogging the natural lashes follicle oxygen intake, which means natural lash damage.
To avoid this lash application mishap, place the lash extensions 0.5-1mm away from the eyelid skin.

Ocular muscle damage
When placing the extensions on your clients eyelashes, it is critical to use LIGHT pressure around your clients eyes. The tweezers should never press down onto the eye muscles and your hands should never put pressure on their foreheads. You should use eye pads to give your tweezers a cushion when applying the extensions. The ocular muscles of the eye are sensitive, misuse of your tools can cause Palpebral ptosis, “Droopy eye” permanently from excess pressure on the eye muscles.

Lacrimal system- Clogging
Internal and external lacrimals produce and channel tears to the surface of the eye where they flush out debris and waste. Lash adhesive wrongfully applied to these areas can cause lacrimal tamponade, or clogging of the lacrimals.

Lash clumping
Adhering 2 or more natural lashes together with the use of lash adhesive. Commonly called “stickies”.
